Before the shop opens
Online ordering is not yet open. Products and print books are shown for information. Where an item shows "Register interest", you can leave your email address and we will tell you when it can be ordered. No payment is taken and no contract is formed.
Product details, availability and prices may change before ordering opens. The price that applies is the one shown at checkout when you order.
Orders and contract
Once the shop is open, placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we email you to confirm your order has been accepted. If an item is unavailable we will tell you and refund any payment in full.
Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling.
- Floodwatch Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and our receipts do not show VAT.
- Payment is by debit or credit card, taken through Stripe at checkout. We do not offer bank transfer, invoice or credit terms.
- We check prices carefully. If we make an obvious pricing error, we will contact you before dispatch and you can cancel for a full refund.
Delivery
See our delivery page for where we deliver and how long it takes.
Your right to cancel and faulty goods
You can cancel most orders within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. See our returns page for details and how to return an item.
Safe and lawful use
- Fixed electrical work, including generator changeover and battery connection to a home or building's wiring, must be carried out by a competent person to BS 7671 and notified under Building Regulations where required.
- Radio transmitters must be used within Ofcom rules. Some equipment requires an amateur or business radio licence.
- Guides, calculators and reviews on this site are general information, not professional advice for your specific property. Reviews are researched summaries of manufacturer data and independent third-party testing; we do not test the items ourselves.
Affiliate links
Some book links go to Amazon UK or Bookshop.org, and we may earn a commission if you buy. This does not change the price you pay or which books we recommend.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
